WISD Health Services Offer Wellness Tips

WISD Health Services Offer Wellness Tips October 28, 2014 --The onset of somewhat cooler temperatures brings the advent of cold and flu season. WISD Nurse Coordinator Lou Ann Boehm, RN reminds parents and students that one of the most important ways to stay healthy is to wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Nurses provide lessons on how students can effectively wash hands on elementary campuses and offer reminders at secondary schools.
Snow in October?

Snow in October? Fifth grade students have had many snowball fights this week. Students had 30 seconds to toss their snowballs at one another...paper snowballs that is! When the timer went off, students had seconds to unwrap their snowball and pair up with a decimal and whole number. Next the pair had to divide with the decimal being the dividend and the whole number as a divisor. Mrs. Schultz stated, "We had all the fun without the cold."
